The Surgical Skills Lab at the University of Pretoria is a state-of-the-art, adaptable facility designed to foster the development of surgical expertise and innovation.
This cutting-edge space offers an immersive environment for refining both technical proficiency and critical non-technical skills required in modern surgical practice.
The lab is fully equipped with a diverse array of resources and advanced amenities to cater to the evolving needs of the surgical field.
Participants benefit from access to specialized training stations, each thoughtfully outfitted with theatre beds, laparoscopic tools, and a bronchoscopy simulator, closely replicating the conditions of a traditional operating room. Advanced technology supports real-time demonstrations by instructors, displayed on a large screen, allowing learners to observe procedures and practice simultaneously at their individual stations for an enriched, hands-on experience.
Clinical Skills and Simulation Labs
Our Clinical Skills and Simulation Labs, located in the north and south wings of the HW Snyman Building, serve as the cornerstone of training for all Faculty of Health Science students.
